Not a good start

Both of the kids started school on Thursday. Bryson is now in 2nd grade and Taylor in 7th. First day was a great success for both of them. They both had soccer practice after school in the hot weather and all was good until we were home sitting down to eat dinner. Bryson complained of a bad headache and the next minute we knew he was hugging the toilet bowl. The sickness continued Friday and he was not happy to miss the 2nd day of school. Not sure what caused the sickness, but he is back to his normal self. Oh that reminds me, have to go and write a absent letter for school.

Last month,while at Birch Bay Waterslides, Harry noticed a very dark small mole on Taylor's back. Last Wednesday we headed into the dermatologist to have it checked. The Dr took the mole off right away. Yesterday the Dr called with results. The test show that the mole was not normal and her cells also are affected. Simple Story is that this small dark spot turned out to be CANCER! Boy I hate that word..... Anyway she is scheduled for another surgery in a couple of weeks to make sure that it didn't spread. Please get yourself checked regularly! Good Eyes Mr Edwards on spotting that early.

Braces

Before

Taylor was very eager to get her braces. She got them on August 4th(Harrys birthday) and will have them on for about 2 1/2 -3 years. If you would have asked her about her braces the first two days of having them on, she would of given you a look that would of killed you!

I am going to paint the hallway. However as you can see the picture there is no actual stopping point for the hallway. This wall continues into the living room. My question is do I paint the hall and that wall the same color or do I stop at some point and paint the living room wall a different color? If choosing two different colors where would you stop?

Harry just text me after he Ride in Tour De Whatcom. He completed the 105 mile ride in 5 hours and 40 minutes riding time, 6 hours and 15 minutes with breaks. He has been training hard for this ride the last month. I am so Proud of him!

Thursday we went camping at Rocky Point. It was such a beauty of a day and warm. The wonderful part that we drove 5 minutes to get there. The bad part is that after 5pm the restrooms are locked. Still we had a great time!

Today I got to go to Young Womens camp and play games with the girls there. I show up at 2.45pm thinking great I have 15 minutes to spare. As Sister Murray finishes her class, she acknowledges me and ask am I here for the next two days. No I am here as a member of the RS presidency to play games with the girls at 3pm. Oh that started at 2pm! OH DARN!!!! Nevertheless Taylor was excited to see me and I spent some time with them.

Young Women

June 7th Taylor turned 12. She was super happy to finally go to Young Womens. Today she got to go to Girls Camp. She was happy to go but last night had a hard time falling asleep. She finally came in and talked with her dad, that she was going to miss us so much. Her dad assured her that all will be well and she will have a super time! Dropping her off this morning as 6.30am, she was ready to go. I sure do miss her even if its for just a few days

Harrys 40th Surprise Birthday Party

July 23rd I threw a Surprise Birthday Party for my love! He turns the big 40 on August 4th. With our busy schedule this was the only Saturday that he was not working in the next couple of weeks.(he only gets a Saturday and Sunday off every 6 weeks) Through out the day, the kids helped clean the house and got stuff ready that we could without him suspecting anything. We got him out of the house at 4.30pm, we decorated the house, got the food ready. He was completely surprised when walking in the house at 6.20. We had great food,great company and overall a great success surprise party!

I have been away from blogging for not better reason than been lazy. I do often think about blogging but quickly be overcome by were to start! So I think that I am just going to start off fresh and maybe post pictures of things that we have done in the last few months later.

Today, Bryson got to meet his very first baseball coach! This has been a long time coming. So at 7.00am this morning Bryson came in and woke me up by asking how much longer until we leave. Our time to meet his coach was 10am. Literally every two minutes he came in and asked me how much longer. Come to find out this afternoon from Harry that he started asking at 1.00am, 4.00am and then finally when Harry got up to get ready at 5.40am this morning, there was Bryson getting ready for baseball. He was so excited to meet Coach Brown and the other members of his team. Practice starts on Monday and he has already informed me that we can not miss any practices or games. Is this a start to something that he will love forever!

A Few days before Christmas we went to Ensign Ranch for a couple of days. We actually had our Christmas there as Harry was working Christmas Day. We rented out a Family Cabin, sled, ate and had a wonderful time. The kids have declared that they would like to do this every year.

Today was the anuual Holland Happening Parade. We were not able to watch the whole parade as Taylor had to be at Soccer before the parade was over.

She got to walk in the parade with the Girl Scouts! She had fun. Last night she spent the night at a friends house and they went to the carnival. Her friends dad won this huge teddy for her!!

Maybe this one will be too big for Shasta(our dog) If anyone has been to my house she will always go and get a stuffed bear off the kids bed and bring it to you!!!!

Root Canal

Today I had my root canal done. I am terrified of the noise of the drill. The sound whistling around against my teeth just really puts me on edge.

So today for the first time, I had laughing gas. It made very relaxed, floating on the clouds kinda of feeling. I was giggling at points throughout my procedure, my dentist says, "She is laughing through a root canal, Thats perfect"

Will see if I am laughing once the numbness wears off!!!

I went to get in my car Thursday morning and the door was 1/4 way open. Open the door the rest of the way and sure enough there was stuff everywhere. Every compartment left open. I felt very lucky because I had some expensive stuff in there, including about a $1000.00 worth of Girl Scout cookies and all they took was about a $1.00 in change and my mailbox key. Cops stated that there where a number of breakins up and down the street the same night.

Today has been one of those days, where the kids like to test how much patience you have!!!! Bryson woke up this morning, bouncing of the walls showing his lack of good behaviour. It's now 7.19pm and he is still going. Tonight about sent me over the edge when he was running around with his dinner plate(a big no-no in our house) tripped and a plate full of speggahtti spilled all over my white rug in the living room. For some odd reason the kids always like to act out a little when Harry is working nights. Harry can you please just work days.... well in a perfect world that would happen, but since we don't live in a perfect world I will continue living with him working days and nights for the next 25 years..

A friend and I went to see Brad Pasiley and Deirks Bently in concert in Tacoma last night. On our way we stopped by the Space needle as my friend in the 15 years that she lived here has never been there!!

Overall we had an awesome time, after getting back in @2am this morning, we were tired but very well worth it. If you are a country fan and have never seen Brad, he is worth every dollar. I have seen Dierks a couple of times and LOVE HIM!!!

For the love of Tennis

I am a HUGE fan of Tennis. Funny for someone that has never played tennis much. As kids we use to attempt to play, but was never that good. So for the last two weeks I have spent many hours watching the Australian Open. Last night alone I stayed up to watch the Mens Final until 4.30am and they still had two sets to go. I would of stayed tuned for the whole game but I had Harry nagging me to go to sleep.

I love to watch Roger Frederer play. I have always liked his passion for the game and he truley is a Champion. Last night he lost to Nadal, in which I think Roger was not even close to playing his best. For that said, I watched the end of the game this afternoon after church and my heart just broke to see Roger so dissapointed in his game and tears of frustration.

Until May I will be there watching you Roger, and in my eyes you are still the best!!!

The kids and I decided to spend the day in Burlington while Harry was at a Scout Training session.

We spent a few hours at the Children's musuem and then headed to Cold Stone for a very yummy treat. We had a great time together!

So the last few days Bryson has told me that I am a mean mum. At first I just let it slide thinking that he was just blabbing on. Well last night I was trying to get him to stop playing his Wii game and get him to bed. Of course he tells me I mean because I tell him "NO" we can't finish or "NO" for his strange request of different things. So after him crying and running to his bed, I kindly told him that that's not a nice thing to say and hurts mummies feelings when you say that. I then proceeded to tell him that there are things that you don't get always or things that you can not do. With huge tears rolling down his cheeks he askes"Mummy can I still have my Wii, I really would like it if you didn't take it from me" Kids I tell ya!!!!!

Tonight we went out to dinner at Flyers. Harry loves hot and spicy food. As we looked over the menu, he finally orders "The 5 Alarm Burger" He knew it was going to be hot but how hot was the mystery.... He took the first bite and about died. He proceeded very slowly and ate 3/4 of the burger. It was that hot that he lips and tongue was tingling and had a really hard time talking. He even had tears in his eyes at one point. I took a very small bite and ouch... I dare you to try one......

Taylor likes to write little messages quite often.
This is the one I found under her cereal bowl the other day.

It's the bananna againt the strawberry, and they are off! The bananna is well in front of the strawberry. No the strawberry made a remarkable recovery. The strawberry wins 1st prize, a trip to my mouth. Yummy in my tummy especially "Oat Boats" It would make me feel better if I was sick.

I was out doing my visiting teaching last week and my companion reminded me that I have not blogged in a while...... so here goes!

This November will ever be a blessed memory for us. After having family in from Nampa for Thanksgiving, they and some wonderful friends joined us at Seattle Temple to witness Harry and I been sealed to our children for all time and enternity. It was a such a wonderful experience. 5 days later Harry's family left and our house somewhat got back to normal(if that is possible at all) It has been busy with Christmas parties, work, and trying to get ready for Christmas. I have had a hard time this year getting ready. I am usually pretty organised with most of the shopping been done the 1st part of December, not this year.

Maybe next year, I will be better ORGANISED!!!!

So lately I have been listening to my hometown radio station back in Australia. All I want to say is I definatly have lost my accent. It's sad to say that I can now hear the aussie accent when they talk.... and they sound awesome.

Our love story

We met February 7th 1997 at an Airforce base quite close to my home in Australia. What was I doing at an airforce base you may ask. Well my best friend convinced me that we should go out to the "Nuk" which is the airforce dance club/bar. Her husband had just been deployed. I was not really excited about going as I just got my wrist out of plaster(cast) earlier that day. So we gathered a few friends and off to the "Nuk" we went. My best friend had told me before we headed out that a bunch of Americans just landed today. Why was she telling me this I thought. I was in a relationship that I really needed to get out off as it was not going well. So after a couple of hours of dancing and carrying on, that's when this guy had approached me and asked if I wanted to dance. I about fell to feet as he spoke to me. I remember replying "you are american" His reply looking a little confused was yes. So anyways the night went on and we talked and danced none stop for a few hours. Towards the end of the night(1.00am) we decided to leave for another dance club. He had asked for my phone number and I happily gave it to him. As I was leaving he had told me that he will call me. My thinking was yeah right. Well at 8.30 Saturday morning he called. I was shocked but thrilled. We had gotten home at 6.00am Saturday morning from having a fun night out, I was beat. So Saturday we met up and spent a great day together. So long story short we spent everynight and everyweekend together for the next two months. I knew that he was heading back to Japan after the two months so I was trying not to get too attached. Well that was very hard to do and we both fell for each other. I remember a week before he left Australia he had asked me if I would ever considering moving to U.S so we could be together. WOW that was huge. Anyways I told him I would consider thinking about that. Before he left Australia to continue with his work in Japan he gave me 6 letters to open one each week that I was gone. I was flying out with two friends to travel Europe for six weeks. No contact for 6 weeks. However he did call my parents to see if they have heard from me. I thought that was sweet. On the way home from Europe we had a 9 hour layover in Japan. We were sitting at the airport with hardly any money for 9 hours and I could not even see my love. The base was too far away from the airport for him to travel. I think that was one of the hardest times of our dating. Moving on I called him when I arrived home and told him that I was going to Japan to spend two weeks with him. It was great. At this time we knew we were meant to be together forever. 1 1/2 years later I joined him in the States and have been happily married for 10 years. He is my best friend,a wonderful husband and great father to our children. I couldn't imagine life any other way

Twilight Tickets

I am planning on buying tickets tomorrow for Twilght that will be viewed in Burlington. If you would like to go let me know and I can buy the tickets at the same time. I know a few of us has talked about possibly going out to eat first and then seeing the movie. I am way excited. I think it would be way fun to go with a group.

The times of the opening day are 10.00am, 1.00pm, 4.15pm, 7.15pm and 10.00pm

Halloween and Pumpkins

The end of October was a busy one. Bryson had an Open house at Preschool which he was very excited to show us the work he has done. The kids done a great job painting pumpkins and making bats.

We also carved pumpkins which is always one of the kids favorite things to do

Last Saturday we had our wards Trunk or Treat, so much fun had with dancing, eating and going to trunk to trunk getting candy. Both the kids came home with A LOT OF CANDY!

Then last night we headed downtown to Trick or Treat Pioneer Street. In the ten years that we have lived here this was only the 2nd time that we have done this. The 1st time was right after we moved here. I must say this time was much more succesful than last.

We finished the night out at the Jensen's home where we enjoyed each others company, ate and played games. The kids had a blast by having a PJ party with watching movies, playing and making forts.

Honey Crisp Apples

Corn Maze

I believe tommorrow night is the last night for "Corn Maze by Flashlight" from 7-10pm at Dugualla Bay Farms. We are excited to go after trunk or treat. I drove by there about 8pm tonight and looked like lots of folks were enjoying the Maze.

Medication

Last Friday Bryson was diagnosed with Asthma. He was pretty crook for a few days also with a virus. Dr Mayes put him on Albuterol with nebulizer three times a day. Oh my that stuff made him wild. She did warn us that it usually makes kids hyperactive and boy she was not short of a fib.

The last few days have been quite rough here at the Edwards home... He now is off the nebulizer for a few days so hopefully things should pan out!

Lockdown Over For Two Oak Harbor Schools

OAK HARBOR, Wash. -- Two schools in Oak Harbor were in lockdown due to police activity in the area, said Oak Harbor School District spokesman Joe Hunt.

Oak Harbor High School and Hillcrest Elementary were locked down late Wednesday morning as a safety precaution, but were not involved in the police activity in any way, Hunt said.

The lockdown ended around 12:15 p.m.

KIRO 7 is waiting to hear from the Oak Harbor Police Department to track down what the police activity is.

So last night at the dinner table Bryson had asked me how old Shasta(our dog)is. I said that she is two and half and will be turning three in March. He asked me how Shasta was going to blow out her birthday candles on her cake, I simply said dogs don't have a cake they will get sick. Mmmmmm well we could invite some of Shasta's friends for her Birthday party. They would like that!!! Bryson is now planning a birthday party for his dog. Life is pretty amusing here in the Edwards household....
