Christmas Brekky!

Tradition in the Edwards household is that we normally have something easy and quite yummy for Breakfast on Christmas morning. If anyone has ever had Butterbraids you would proberly agree with me that they are REALLY GOOD!

Gingerbread Houses!

Last Wednesday a few of us braved the snowy/ice roads to go to a friends house to make Gingerbread houses. The kids had a great time creating their own!!

Thanks to all for organized and hosted the event

"White Christmas"

Well the locals here know that we will be celebrating Christmas with a lot of white around us. For you that are far away, accross the Pacific I am so excited to be having this Christmas season in the snow.... I have found a new love with the snow, from the time it is falling to playing in inches and this time a foot of snow. So to all you those In Australia, I hope that you had a beautiful hot summer Christmas today and for the Locals I wish you and your family a Merry Christmas for tomorrow...

Computers are great sometimes

Tonight I received a call from a very good friend of mine back in Australia that I have not talked too for about 8 years. He found me on Facebook about a month ago. After all these years he remembered my parents home phone number, so he called them to get my phone number here. What a great surprise. Just shows that computers can be good for something!

Families are Forever!

This is the cake Harry surprised the family with after we were sealed.

Snowing in Oak Harbor

We woke up this morning to quite a few inches of snow. Of course the kids had no school so we enjoyed the snow quite early today. As I am typing this message, I look up the hill from my house and it's getting hard to see the houses up there.

Enjoy the Winter Wonderland It's great!!!!

Looking down the street from our house

Taylor being Silly

Taylor likes to write little messages quite often.
This is the one I found under her cereal bowl the other day.

It's the bananna againt the strawberry, and they are off! The bananna is well in front of the strawberry. No the strawberry made a remarkable recovery. The strawberry wins 1st prize, a trip to my mouth. Yummy in my tummy especially "Oat Boats" It would make me feel better if I was sick.

Crazy girl, but I did think it was cute

"The Dark Knight"

I watched "The Dark Knight" this afternoon. Very good movie. Has anyone else seen it and if so what did you think?

Where did the last month and a half go!

I was out doing my visiting teaching last week and my companion reminded me that I have not blogged in a while...... so here goes!

This November will ever be a blessed memory for us. After having family in from Nampa for Thanksgiving, they and some wonderful friends joined us at Seattle Temple to witness Harry and I been sealed to our children for all time and enternity. It was a such a wonderful experience. 5 days later Harry's family left and our house somewhat got back to normal(if that is possible at all) It has been busy with Christmas parties, work, and trying to get ready for Christmas. I have had a hard time this year getting ready. I am usually pretty organised with most of the shopping been done the 1st part of December, not this year.

Maybe next year, I will be better ORGANISED!!!!

Our love story

We met February 7th 1997 at an Airforce base quite close to my home in Australia. What was I doing at an airforce base you may ask. Well my best friend convinced me that we should go out to the "Nuk" which is the airforce dance club/bar. Her husband had just been deployed. I was not really excited about going as I just got my wrist out of plaster(cast) earlier that day. So we gathered a few friends and off to the "Nuk" we went. My best friend had told me before we headed out that a bunch of Americans just landed today. Why was she telling me this I thought. I was in a relationship that I really needed to get out off as it was not going well. So after a couple of hours of dancing and carrying on, that's when this guy had approached me and asked if I wanted to dance. I about fell to feet as he spoke to me. I remember replying "you are american" His reply looking a little confused was yes. So anyways the night went on and we talked and danced none stop for a few hours. Towards the end of the night(1.00am) we decided to leave for another dance club. He had asked for my phone number and I happily gave it to him. As I was leaving he had told me that he will call me. My thinking was yeah right. Well at 8.30 Saturday morning he called. I was shocked but thrilled. We had gotten home at 6.00am Saturday morning from having a fun night out, I was beat. So Saturday we met up and spent a great day together. So long story short we spent everynight and everyweekend together for the next two months. I knew that he was heading back to Japan after the two months so I was trying not to get too attached. Well that was very hard to do and we both fell for each other. I remember a week before he left Australia he had asked me if I would ever considering moving to U.S so we could be together. WOW that was huge. Anyways I told him I would consider thinking about that. Before he left Australia to continue with his work in Japan he gave me 6 letters to open one each week that I was gone. I was flying out with two friends to travel Europe for six weeks. No contact for 6 weeks. However he did call my parents to see if they have heard from me. I thought that was sweet. On the way home from Europe we had a 9 hour layover in Japan. We were sitting at the airport with hardly any money for 9 hours and I could not even see my love. The base was too far away from the airport for him to travel. I think that was one of the hardest times of our dating. Moving on I called him when I arrived home and told him that I was going to Japan to spend two weeks with him. It was great. At this time we knew we were meant to be together forever. 1 1/2 years later I joined him in the States and have been happily married for 10 years. He is my best friend,a wonderful husband and great father to our children. I couldn't imagine life any other way

Halloween and Pumpkins

The end of October was a busy one. Bryson had an Open house at Preschool which he was very excited to show us the work he has done. The kids done a great job painting pumpkins and making bats.

We also carved pumpkins which is always one of the kids favorite things to do

a href="">

Last Saturday we had our wards Trunk or Treat, so much fun had with dancing, eating and going to trunk to trunk getting candy. Both the kids came home with A LOT OF CANDY!

Then last night we headed downtown to Trick or Treat Pioneer Street. In the ten years that we have lived here this was only the 2nd time that we have done this. The 1st time was right after we moved here. I must say this time was much more succesful than last.

We finished the night out at the Jensen's home where we enjoyed each others company, ate and played games. The kids had a blast by having a PJ party with watching movies, playing and making forts.

Last Friday Bryson was diagnosed with Asthma. He was pretty crook for a few days also with a virus. Dr Mayes put him on Albuterol with nebulizer three times a day. Oh my that stuff made him wild. She did warn us that it usually makes kids hyperactive and boy she was not short of a fib.

The last few days have been quite rough here at the Edwards home... He now is off the nebulizer for a few days so hopefully things should pan out!

Bryson's Dog

So last night at the dinner table Bryson had asked me how old Shasta(our dog)is. I said that she is two and half and will be turning three in March. He asked me how Shasta was going to blow out her birthday candles on her cake, I simply said dogs don't have a cake they will get sick. Mmmmmm well we could invite some of Shasta's friends for her Birthday party. They would like that!!! Bryson is now planning a birthday party for his dog. Life is pretty amusing here in the Edwards household....

Ok, so I can not sew to save my life. I was wondering if anyone would know of a good seamstress to make Roman Shades. Any information or ideas would be greatly appreciated!

Why does this happen?

I do laundry usaully every other day. After gathering the clothes up that sit right beside the clothes basket in both of my kids rooms and sometimes at Harry's clothes basket(by the way, another gripe that I have) I proceed downstairs to the laundry room to do the laundry. Typically in my household I am usually the one that does the laundry( all though I do have a wonderful husband that helps in other cleaning/domestic duties of the home). My gripe is how can so many socks disappear? I have dozens of socks that no longer have a mate. I complety cleaned both of the kids rooms a couple of weeks ago in hope that I would find them, nope there not there either! Does the washing machine eat them? I guess it's just a mystery. I really love buying socks all the time

Was wondering if any ladies would be interested in playing Bunko on a regular basis. Maybe once a month. If you have not played this game, it's very fun and we have always had a good time playing it with a group of women. Of course our spouses are invited to play too. Let me know what you think.

Too Funny

Bryson's stomach is a little upset this afternoon. So as he is playing in the playhouse outside about every 5-10 minutes he comes inside to use the bathroom. "Mum I need you" he yells out. After a few times of this routine he finally says "Why does my bottom keep burping"

Too Adorable!!!

Home Sick

I have not felt this way in a very long time. The last few days have been tough!!! Emotionally! I just really want to see my family and friends again. I have a wonderful life here and have been blessed with many good friends and I have a wonderful family. It's hard when so much of me wants to move with my family to Australia but knowing the chances of that are very slim but at the same time some part of me wants to be here... Confusing HA....

Kinda feel better just getting my feelings out. I guess that's what Blogs are for!!

How could this be?

I love to sleep!! I don't know a mother that dosen't like to sleep. Usually I will sleep on average of 7-9 hours of sleep a night. Anyways for the past three weeks I have slept about 3-4 hours a night. The first thing people or a Dr would ask is there something you are worried about or on your mind! My answer to that is no to is there something worrying me, but I belive we always have something on our mind. Nothing to the extreame that would keep me awake for many hours a night.

The very weird thing about this story is that I feel great, I am not tired, infact I feel better than I would if I have slept for 8 hours. Maybe it will catch up with me real soon.....

How could this be???

1st Day of Soccer

Father's Day

So yesterday was Father's day in Australia. Every year I buy Father's day cards for my dad so I and the kids can send to him in late August for them to arrive in time. (very hard to find father's day cards in August here)

I was talking with my mum on Friday( Sat there) and she gently remindeded me that it was Father's Day tomorrow. I told her I knew and that I would call. So about 10.30 last night after completely forgetting to call my dad all day, jumped on the teley and called Father. Mum answered and said did you forget to call. Yes my response was as she noticed that I had just woken up. Netherless she was not pleased with me and the conversation went on. I felt bad, but was that because my mum made me feel bad or came to realization that my memory does not serve me as well as it use too..

A Ironing Lifesaver

So for many years I have slaved for many long hours over piles of clothes to be ironed. I came across the Rowenta Pressure Iron and Steamer. It has cut my ironing time down by more than half. I can iron a button shirt without any creases in about a minute and half to two minutes. It has made my " Ironing Life" so much easier

2nd Opionion

So we needed to have our brakes checked on our car. I was pretty sure that we were going to need to replace them. I took the car into a well know tire place here in town that proceeded to do a free brake check. After 45 minutes he comes out to tell me that we need new brakes, 4 new tires as the front of the inside tires were totally wore down to a bad wheel alignment problem and the back tires were wearing down thin.

I was quite surprised at his finding as the tires were only about 8 months old. Total damage to get everything fixed about $1100.00. Went home to discuss this with Harry and said that we should proceed to get the brakes fixed but he suggested on getting another quote from another well known firm here in town.

New brakes was really the only thing needed. Tires were in excellent shape with no sign of any alignment problem and had even tread across the tires.

We just saved ourselves $760.00. My advise is always get a 2nd Opionion when dealing with work on cars....

Summertime Fun

We just returned from our almost 3 week vacation to Utah for a family reunion and camping at Yellowstone. Of Course along the way we had to stop at the open house for the new Twin falls Temple. This was my first time going through a temple. I could not believe how beautiful the Lord's house truly is.

In Logan, UT where my husband was born and his grandparents still live was our resting stop for about a week. While here we got to see 2 sisters that will always have a special place in our heart. For those reading from church you may remember Sister Manchan and Sister Anderson. Well Sister Anderson lives in Logan and Sister Manchan was visting her. It was great to spend some time with them. Also while in Utah we spent a couple of days down at Temple square. Logan was the location of the family reunion on the Edwards side. Lots of them.....

Yellowstone here we come. Harry's grandparents on his mums side came with us. We camped in the park for 6 days. This was my first time to Yellowstone and I can happily say it will not be my last. We have already started talking about returning in a couple of years. It was truly amazing. The wildlife we saw was incredible. We covered most of the park except Fishing Bridge which the roads to there were closed to an incredible forest fire that pretty much started minutes before arriving at the point of the fire.

For the long ride home, we travelled up through Montanta where we stayed in Missoula for the night. Overall we drove just over three thousand miles and memories that we will have for a life time
